Travelling to Olvera
From the UK you have choice of airports to which you can fly. Jerez is approx 1¼ hrs drive; Malaga and Seville airports are within 1½ hours drive from Olvera. There is also Granada which is just over 1½ hours drive. Jerez and Granada as by far the quietest airports to fly to, and therefore you are less likely to get held up waiting for baggage.
Getting to Olvera from Jerez Airport
1. Jerez Airport is located in the city limits of Jerez de la Frontera, in the province of Cadiz, 8 kilometres to the northeast of Jerez.
2. On Exiting the airport, join the Autovia del Sur, the N-IV heading towards Jerez.
3. Exit at the first junction, on to the N-349.
4. At the roundabout, take the second exit, and join the A-382.
5. Stay on this road, past Jedula, Arcos de la Frontera, Bornos, Villamartin and Algodonales. The road will go through a short tunnel and will see Olvera in the distance. The road will lead you right to the town.
6. Take the first exit off the A-382 signposted Olvera (CA-0447). Follow the road all the way up to the town.
Getting to Olvera from Malaga Airport
Malaga Airport is the most southerly airport in Europe, and lies eight kilometres from the city centre.
1. On leaving the airport, follow directions to Cadiz. This will take you onto the N-340. Take the first exit signposted Churriana, and the first exit off the roundabout. This will lead to another roundabout. Take the first exit onto the MA-9002.
2. At the next two roundabouts, go straight over. Go straight over the next roundabout. The road leads under the A-357 and there is another roundabout and you need to join the A-357 signposted Campillos.
3. Follow the road all the way to campillos. Take the first exit on the left signpostedCampillos.
4. The road leads into the town. At the roundabout, take the third exit (9 o'clock). Keep straight ahaid, and go straight across the next roundabout. Follow the road out of town, and turn left at the junction with the A-382, signposted Algodonales.
5. The road leads all the way to Olvera. Take the first exit signposted Olvera, and follow the road into town.
Getting to Olvera from Granada Airport
Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport is located 17 kilometres from Granada and 106 kilometres from Jaén.
1. From the airport, take a left onto the A-92 signposted Sevilla. Keep on this road all to way to Antequera.
2. Pass Antequera, and you will reach a junction with a signpost for the A-382(Algodonales, Campillos, Cadiz). This is the road that leads to Olvera.
3. Follow the road through Campillos and keep on going until you reach Olvera.
4. Take the first exit signposted Olvera, and follow the road into town.
Getting to Olvera from Seville (Sevilla) Airport
The Sevilla airport is situated ten kilometres northeast of the capital.
1. From the airport, join the E-5/A-4 heading east, until you reachCarmona. Do not take the first three exits.
2. Take the fourth exit, and keep on the road until you see the junction for the A-380 Marchena. Take this exit and keep on the road.
3. Go through Marchena and take a right at the junction with the A-364 (Jerez, Moron de la Frontera). Go straight on under the A-92 and onto the A-361. This road leads to Moron de la Frontera. Continue on this road through Moron and onto the C-339.
4. This road leads all the way to Olvera.
Car Rental
It is advisable to rent/hire a car from the airport. There are no rental/hire car businesses in Olvera. You will need transport to visit the surrounding picturesque villages and countryside.
